Nature Journal Page- Nov and Dec

I put two months together this time on my newest nature journal page.

For November of 2014 I drew some Blackjack oak leaves and acorns. This scrubby, tough tree is very hardy in NW Oklahoma and does well in the poor soil. In the autumn, the leaves can be very pretty, but some years they turn all to brown very quickly, and I think that makes for a dreary landscape. For December, I have added an Amaryllis. I like to plant these large bulbs in a pot indoors so that they will bloom around Christmas as a part of my living room decor. I keep them in my only window in that room so they can get as much light as possible, but usually they get a little too tall and start to lean over trying to get all the available light. I have to keep turning their planter little by little to keep them upright.
