Nature Journal Page- Jan and Feb

Moving into the new year back in 2015, there was not a lot to record about things happening in the world of nature, except that it was EXTREMELY cold in January, and we got a much-longed-for snow in February. Of course, our cow had her new calf in the coldest part of the year! I guess this really has to do with the breeding time, but so often we see it happen that a new calf is born on one of the coldest days of winter.
After my watercolor paint dried on this page, I added some glitter glue to look like snow on the calf and on the ground. I did not take a picture of our new addition back in 2015, so I did this drawing from a picture I found online. We never know what color our calves will end up being; this year our black cows have been producing white calves! Must be the daddy's determination. I did the drawing with a Sharpie marker, so I could not erase if I made any mistakes. The paper in this journal is not really watercolor paper, so I could not really get the color correct on the baby. I did not want to spend a large amount of time trying to get the coloring just right, so you will see too much yellow in the hair. This 2-month-combined page is quite different from the pages I have completed so far. I hope you like it!
