Lisa colors...

High Society
This is my nephew in a tuxedo attending a highbrow concert. My reference photo was a cell phone selfie he posted on Facebook. He was feeling sort of sick that night which accounts for his pale face.
This colored pencil work earned a First Place ribbon in its category at the 2013 Kay County Free Fair.

Audrey in Pink
This colored pencil drawing of Audrey Hepburn has so many different pinks in it! I overworked her face a little too much and some of the layers of color started rubbing off, right on her cheekbone below the hat. I cannot figure out how to fix this, so I have presented it just like it is. I believe I finished this in May of 2016. The cheek boo-boo keeps me from showing it anywhere.

Dan 'n' Ann
This is the colored pencil picture that started my painting journey! No, really. I posted this on Facebook as a surprise to my friend, and she invited me to come to Kentucky to learn how to do watercolor painting or sketching with artist Mitchell Tolle. She and her daughter had been through some of his workshops and she thought I'd enjoy it. That's a short version of the story 😃

I know the colors are wrong in this drawing. I was really just trying to get started in art again, and I don't think I had my good colored pencils then. I was just working with what I had. But I did get a pretty good likeness of both of them- enough so that they wanted the original so they could hang it in their home.

I have not done very many colored pencil works, but I hope to do more! I have a large set of Prismacolor pencils that are supposed to be really good. I have learned that good supplies make all the difference in producing good work. I have tried several brands of sketching pencils, and my favorite brand for smooth laydown is Tombow.

Julia's sick
I believe this is my very first colored pencil attempt, even before the one I tried of Dan 'n' Ann. Julia had been feeling sick and on a whim, I decided to draw and color her. With my poor colors! Too much yellow, but I still like the result.
