Day 9 Roses and Ivy
Flowers are actually very forgiving if you don't record them 100% accurately! I almost got lost in all the petals! Pen and no erasing for this 30 day challenge sketch.
Day 10
This pencil sketch with no erasing is of my youngest son. He's concentrating on something on his dad's ipad and I have ended up making him look angry! I just could not get the chin right; that is not a beard!
Day 11 Security
This no-erasing pen sketch is of my oldest son.
Day 12 Bride
My oldest daughter got married in 2012, and I made her wedding dress. This is a no-erasing pen sketch of one of her favorite poses, before the wedding on the big day.
She had asked me last year to do a sketch of her using this picture and incorporating a particular idea she had seen in an artsy piece online. I tried very hard to do a watercolor painting, but she had really wanted a black, grey and white painting or pencil drawing (she likes those colors in her decorating scheme). But mom likes colors! so I attempted to come up with something she would approve. It was a disaster, I must admit. The drawing part was fine, but when I went to add the watercolor fine detailing on her face, I could not get it right! I never let anyone else but our immediate family ever see it! She did not like it, either! HAHA I did play around with a photo editing app on my phone and came up with some nice effects to apply to a photo of my disappointing painting. I don't mind sharing that editing project- but keep in mind it's digital art over my failed painting!
I guess I am too sensitive about my artwork at this point. I can't help reminding everyone that these sketches in this 30 Day Challenge are not supposed to have any erasing done on them! They are not my best works! I am posting the ones I am not happy with along with the ones I feel are pretty good. Ok, end of my self-conscious disclaimer. 😃
