Two Travel Journal Pages

My ongoing project of making a travel journal from our family vacation last fall is coming along very slowly. Here is the first page, not counting the cover page which I shared some time ago.

I do not plan on sharing every page I make, since some of the pages will be more scrapbook style than art that I add. On this first page, I used several lines from the poem by Walt Whitman, 'Song of the Open Road.' Not all of the poem fits my idea so I did not write out all of it. The little blue vehicle is our rental car, a Nissan Rogue. We really enjoyed traveling in it.

On this second page that I am sharing here, I drew a little autumn border with my Micron 005 ink and then used watercolor paint to add color. We had been on the road a couple of days by now.

When I start working on this journal again, it will be at the point where we have arrived at Niagara Falls. I hope to be able to paint/draw for some of those memories! I'm sure I will probably use some of the materials that we picked up along with more print-out photos for scrapbook style,also.
