Something Blue

My niece is getting married the last day of this month. I wanted to give her a special little gift at her wedding shower, so I painted a little card with her as the bride, and attached a pretty handkerchief over the skirt of the dress, hoping she would want to use it in her wedding as her "Something Blue." I added some glitter glue around the ends of the veil and on the headpiece, and some silk ribbon roses for a three-dimensional bouquet. She really liked my creation and said she had been wondering what she would do for the "something blue" and that now she will use this hanky. 😃 There is a slit in the card that the hanky slips into, so I didn't have to glue it on. Inside the card, I attached a poem that I wrote for the occasion. I was pretty pleased with it and I don't want to share it online, because someone else may take credit for it someday! At the shower when she took it out of its envelope, her fiance said at once, "That's you!" I'm glad I was able to capture a little resemblance of her.
